To introduce, practice and expand a sensible comprehensive strategy of nanotechnology & photovoltaic education and research through different phases to improve quality of research & development activities in the area of Diamond like nanocomposite (DLN) coating and Solar Photovoltaic.
To ensure the application of DLN film coating in different emerging areas. Another important vision is to develop indigenous technology in the area of high efficiency crystalline solar cell.
To contribute to the development of highly qualified and innovative personal through specialize training and knowledge build up in the area of nanotechnology and solar photovoltaic technology.
To conduct cutting-edge research as a frontline R & D incubator through a multi-disciplinary approach in the field of nano-technology and solar photovoltaic technology.
To strategize the industry interactive research and collaborative activities and lead by innovation in the field of nanotechnology & solar photovoltaic technology with the aim of transmission of the research / innovation output into the industrial domain.

Project Title Incorporation of Diamond-like Nanocomposite in a solar cell structure as a replacement of silicon nitride Developement of high efficiency(20-2%), selective emitter, Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> passivated large area N-type C-Si Solar cell. Developement of high efficiency large area N-type C-Si Solar cell by black silicon emitter surface having rear surface passivation and back surface field with a-Si:H Layer Development of DLN-PS doubles layer antireflection coating for large area crystalline silicon solar cells. Development of DLN based phosphine and arsine toxic gas sensor. Studies on electrical and electronic properties of diamond-like nanocomposite thin film ( collaboration project with WBUT ). Diamond-like nanocomposite for optical components (collaboration project with Calcutta University).
